Trouble Sleeping

by Jacqueline Sinfield on November 21, 2009

There is a standing joke in my family that I can sleep anywhere. On an aeroplane, a short car journey, sitting on the sofa with my little nieces playing beside me… not a problem :) If I am tired, I can sleep. It never occurred to me that there would be a situation where I wouldn’t be able to sleep. That was until last weekend. My next door neighbor went away for a long weekend and left the radio on. For three nights I couldn’t sleep. Now while I was able to return to my normal sleep habits when my neighbor returned, sleep deprivation is a serious matter. It has been used as a form of torture and can have serious effects on our body, mind and emotions.
